Training
A key objective for The PDF is to drive up standards amongst professional deputies and those that work alongside them.
To that end we are initially rolling out training aimed at Grade D’s or those starting out in the Court of Protection. This will be followed by an ambitious and comprehensive accreditation programme aimed at all those working as Deputies and others within their team.
Grade D Training
The PDF Grade D Training is aimed at those just beginning their work in the Court of Protection. It aims to provide a good introduction to the things that are important, but not necessarily covered anywhere else. We have drawn from the experience of the PDF Working Group as well as external services to create the content and it will be free to all PDF Members.
The course is accessible via a link in the Resource Hub in the Members Area. Once registered, you will be able to complete the course in bitesize pieces, in your own time. The course includes questions as you go that will contribute to an overall pass score at the end and you will even have a certificate to download.
PDF Accreditation Programme - Coming Soon
Anticipated for launch in the Autumn of 2024, the PDF Accreditation Programme is designed to be used alongside the OPG’s standards. Completion of the programme will demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of what it means to be a Deputy or work as part of the team and to represent P effectively.
The content is being written, produced and presented by expert practitioners in their field from across the Court of Protection.
Objective
To drive up standards amongst professional deputies and those that work with them in the Court of Protection.
Eligibility
The scheme will be open to all those working in the Court of Protection, but primarily Professional Deputies, their Associates and those working within the team. You need to be a PDF Member in order to complete it, but it is not a pre-cursor to joining.
How will it be structured?
