HM Government Public Appointments – Chair of the National Mental Capacity Forum (NMCF)
We were recently forwarded an email from the MOJ that you may be interested in:
As you may be aware, Baroness Finlay is approaching the end of her tenure as Chair of the National Mental Capacity Forum NMCF. The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) have launched a campaign to recruit a new Chair for the NMCF. We are seeking excellent and diverse candidates who are able to contribute to and develop the work of the NMCF and bring insights of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) stakeholders into Government; and, to continue raising awareness and understanding of the Act amongst stakeholders and the public.
The NMCF is a joint Ministry of Justice and Department of Health and Social Care initiative. Its purpose is to work with stakeholders from health and social care, together with those from other sectors (for example, finance, legal, police, housing) to identify complementary actions which member organisations can pursue, especially at a local level, to improve implementation of the MCA.
The Forum has a Leadership Group which consists of a small, core group of stakeholders representing different areas in the sector, and it brings together those responsible for implementing the MCA to identify and take forward shared actions to benefit people who use the services.
Public appointments of this kind are made through open competition and details of this post and how to apply are on the Cabinet Office Website here. The closing date for applications is 31 August 2021. Any queries regarding the vacancy should be directed to email@example.com.
Please do forward this to interested parties and publicise the campaign to your networks.
