Last Thursday saw over 50 of our Associate tier members coming together in London for our inaugural Associates’ Conference. Aimed at all those just starting out, through to the more experienced paralegals, the day’s programme covered sessions on the following:
Costs and the importance of correctly recording and how to progress to claiming Grade C GHR
Property and what to consider when undertaking a purchase and or adaptation
The OPG Deputy Standards – a whistle stop tour
Personal Brand – what does this mean and how to better it delivered by the excellent Deborah Ogden
Deputy Panel – How to handle difficult situations and what to think about
A history of IFAs
Most importantly, the day was rounded off with a networking session with wine and canapes.
Chase de Vere and Brewin Dolphin were our excellent hosts for the day and we will be running the same programme in Manchester in the autumn, so watch this space!
With special thanks to our speakers from the PDF Committee:
“Thanks for the slides and for organising a wonderful event. It impressed on me even more that we can collaborate and share information and that we are not in competition.”
“Please could you pass on my thanks to everyone for organising/running/speaking at the PDF Associates’ Conference last week. I thought it was an excellent day and as probably the oldest there, it was heartening to see so many enthusiastic young people at the beginning of their careers. I have returned determined to time record accurately and to reduce the word count of my attendance notes!”
